🇦🇺 Are you Ready to Level Up? Here’s a Guidebook for Capricorn Season!
Have you ever had an ex or someone from your past that keeps returning to your life? If that’s a yes, then here’s a visual representation of me when I found out that Saturn is back to shake things up in our lives again 😅
In the previous blog post on Why 2024 Felt Like a Rollercoaster, we discussed how Saturn (which was in a Retrograde period since the beginning of 2024) left its retrograde period on November 15, 2024, and around a month later, it is back in our radar again as we enter Capricorn Season.
♑ The Astrology Behind It
Capricorn (December 22 - January 19) is a sign that is ruled by Saturn. And let’s be real - if you’re reading this, you probably know it’s about to get serious. I mean, can we talk about how Saturn just loves to throw in a little extra work for us to do when we least expect it? 😅 it’s like an ex or past flame coming back into your life that would make you question if you’ve truly moved on or if you have just gone into flight mode when it comes to confronting your feelings. Trust me, we’ve all been there.
🪐 Saturn is a Great Teacher
Whenever I think about Saturn - I always think about a teacher that I had at school who was strict, loved structure to discipline you, especially when necessary (even more so when the class was noisy and not paying attention to the lectures), but also a teacher who was incredibly patient and ALWAYS took the time to guide you through the hard stuff because they know it’s essential for your learning and growth. The type of teacher who made sure you worked for it, but in the end, you were grateful because you finally understood the lesson, and it stuck with you long after the class was over.
That’s Saturn in a nutshell. It’s a planet that challenges you, pushes you to your limits, and demands your attention, especially in areas in your life that you’ve been trying so hard to run away from. It’s not making life difficult for you - it’s about teaching you the lessons that will make you stronger, wiser, and more capable. Saturn is the planet of discipline, responsibility, and structure that teaches us to build solid foundations so we can show up for ourselves in a way that will forever benefit us.
💎 Why It’s Beneficial to Go Through This?
Since I was young and when there’s massive changes happening in my life, I always tell myself “I’m going through this so I will grow through it.” It’s been a mantra that has always stood out and stuck with me.
Change - as scary as it sounds to some - is beneficial in our lives to help us grow into the people we’ve always aspired to be. We’ve all heard the famous saying, “Change is the only constant thing in the world,” and yes, that’s very much true.
Just imagine, if caterpillars stopped themselves from turning into chrysalis (commonly known as cocoons), then butterflies would not exist. The same goes for diamonds - if they avoided intense heat and the pressure beneath the earth’s surface, then there wouldn’t be diamonds, and can we all agree that they’re one of the prettiest crystals to ever exist?
This is exactly the phase we are entering, and we’ll soon be emerging from - a time of transformation and growth, courtesy of entering this Capricorn Season which is also ruled by Saturn. Besides, we’re entering 2025, let’s consider this as a “new year, new me.” moment!
🎯 What to Do Next?
⚡️ Set Clear, Achievable Goals
During this time, whether it’s journaling or meditating, break down your big goals into smaller manageable chunks. Remember, it’s not about doing the biggest thing that can possibly overwhelm you, it’s about doing the small things but remaining consistent through it. This will help you stay focused and motivated. Just like how a teacher would guide you step by step instead of pouring all the instructions on you in one go.
⚡️ Cultivate Patience
One of the hardest lessons Saturn teaches is patience. It’s human nature to want to have quick-fix solutions and please don’t shame yourself for wanting that, but Saturn’s lessons require time and commitment (and patience!). Understand that the goals you want might not happen overnight, and that’s okay. Diamonds don’t turn into diamonds overnight, flowers don’t bloom overnight either. Trust that the work you’re putting in now will eventually pay off. Keep the long-term vision in mind and remember that growth happens gradually but consistently.
⚡️ Use Challenges as Stepping Stones
I won’t sugarcoat things and say it will all be an easy journey - that may or may not be the case but this is all about developing resilience through the challenges that arise. Instead of avoiding difficulty, embrace it as an opportunity for growth. When challenges do happen, ask yourself what they can teach you. Mindset is an important part of getting through this so you can grow through it.
⚡️ Don’t Fear Hard Work
And lastly, the most important (and probably one of the hardest things to do) is to not let the idea of “hard work” scare you! I know all of these can seem daunting, but this is your chance to create the life you’ve been dreaming about.
As someone who goes to the gym consistently, I’ve realized that the mind gives up way before the body does, and that’s true for marines too. In Marine Training and Bootcamps, they push their recruits to their absolute limits - physically, mentally, and emotionally. The idea of this is to break down the mental barriers that are telling you “I can’t do this anymore.” and replace them with “I’m capable of more than I think.”
To close this off, the same mindset is crucial to success outside of the gym or military. Whether you are trying to level up your career, improve your health, or simply push through tough times, the key is to recognise that when your mind is trying to tell you that you’re done, prove it wrong.
Remember that you’re more than capable of everything and anything that your mind might be telling you that you can’t do anymore. So give yourself credit. Take deliberate steps towards your future.
